The short-range HDMI over Cat5 Extender kit allows for the extension of HDMI audio/video signals over distances of up to 50 metres (160 feet) using two Cat5 patch cables, making it the perfect solution for digital signage and other applications where the source device and display are a long distance apart. The short-range HDMI over Cat5 extender supports high definition video up to a 1080p resolution, ensuring a high-quality, crisp picture. Auto equalisation makes for a straightforward plug & play installation, regardless of the length of the Cat5 patch cables used. Simply make the HDMI and Cat5 cable connections and the transmitter and receiver will automatically adjust to optimise the video for the length of cable used. This Extender supports both EDID pass through, ensuring that content is sent at the optimal resolution for the display, and High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), allowing protected content to be passed through to the display. The maximum resolution supported will vary depending on the type and length of the Cat5 patch cable.
